Accommodation
There are hotels of different price ranges and sizes in Freiberg. Most of them are located in the centre of the medieval town, i.e. in the immediate vicinity of the conference building “Schloßplatzquartier”. Some are located near the edge of town. Here you have to plan a slightly longer walk to the conference building, but you can enjoy the beauties of the medieval architecture. There is also the possibility to use the public transport in Freiberg.
You will not find any giant hotels of the big hotel chains in Freiberg, so you will have the opportunity to enjoy individual accommodation and Saxon hospitality.
This link will take you to the booking portal provided by the city of Freiberg. The hotels accessible there have made a contingent of overnight stays available until 31 March (the end of the Early Bird registration period). Booking and cancellation conditions may vary from hotel to hotel.

Travelling
Freiberg is located between Dresden and Chemnitz. Each of these cities lies 40 kilometres away from Freiberg. Once per hour a train is leaving Dresden or Chemnitz towards Freiberg. Freiberg train station is located outside the city centre. With light luggage you can reach the centre on foot in about 15 minutes. In general, you are almost always faster on foot in Freiberg than by bus or train.
Cabs are available outside the train station. To pre-order a taxi by phone, call +49 3731 32134 (company "Taxi Hähnel") or +49 3731 26270 (company "Funk-Taxi-Service GmbH").
The name of the bus stop at the train station is "Freiberg (Sachs), Bahnhof". Unfortunately, in order to travel by bus through Freiberg, you need to know the German name of your destination.
